Betrayed by her only daughter

Justice for Hilda Watson

In Loving Memory of Hilda Watson

Hilda Watson passed away in November 2025.

In her later years, there were family arrangements regarding housing and finances that, from my perspective, do not reflect what Hilda had expressed she wanted. My understanding was that she contributed significantly toward the home she lived in and believed certain wishes would be honoured after her passing. We had many conversations over the years where she assured me that her wishes would be carried out as her “wonderful” daughter had promised her she would do the right thing when the time came.

It was also my belief that Hilda hoped the property would eventually be sold and the proceeds shared among her children and grandchildren in a particular way. Sadly, things have not unfolded as I believe she intended. She has been lied to and betrayed by her “wonderful” daughter.

I don’t know how ANY daughter can look their mother in the eye, make a promise and then betray them.

Her “wonderful” daughter claims the parents of Hilda’s grandchildren (who should be getting a share) have too many assets. I don’t see any relevance in this claim, all that matters is a promise was made. And most importantly what matters most is what Hilda wanted.

I hope that, in time, her wishes are treated with the fairness and respect she deserved.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Hilda has been betrayed.

Around 2007/2008, Hilda was forced to sell her lovely home. She had acted as guarantor for a family member’s mortgage, when they defaulted on their mortgage Hilda had to sell her house to pay their debt. This family member in question simply said “take it out of my inheritance,” yet Hilda still wanted them to have a share.
